A big issue we faced was getting my granddad to accept outside help. He was resistant to the idea of carers coming in, thinking it meant losing independence. But after starting with just a couple of visits a week, he’s actually come to enjoy the company and routine. It’s helped him stay on top of things like his medication and eating regular meals.
